Food is at the very heart of High Grange. When we moved down to Devon in September 2019 we dreamt about all of the feasts, parties and cookery classes that we do in 2020. Sadly as with all of our brothers and sisters in the hospitality industry we have had to put all of our plans on hold and try to earn money elsewhere to keep food on our own table. But! this week it has been announced that a vaccine is to rolled out in the next few days so hopefully by next Spring the world will be looking a little more normal.
As such we are delighted to tell you that we are soon going to publish a full calendar of High Grange Events. These will include our signature ‘Feast Nights’ - sitting around our huge oak table that we have recently had made with friends, family and complete strangers. We will bring you course after course of delicious, seasonal and local food - prepared at our glorious new outdoor kitchen. Luke cooks everything over charcoal or wood - we have a Braai Master grill, a pizza oven and every size of Big Green Egg you can imagine - we can happily cater for hundreds of people without having to set foot indoors. We’ll keep you warm with firepits and ecologically sound heaters and dry with our gorgeous tensile structures hung between our own trees.
Our ‘Experience Days’ are NEW for 2021 and incredibly exciting. Arrive at High Grange and we will get you going with a hearty breakfast and plenty of coffee - all over fire, under our trees. Then we might do a morning of mushroom foraging or fishing for mackerel in Lyme Bay. We might butcher a whole pig or a goat, make sausages or smoke a whole brisket. We have a team of incredible chefs, teachers and foragers with an extraordinary wealth of knowledge - most of them are River Cottage Alumni and are renowned experts in their respective fields. Lunch will be a serious business, perhaps with a sloe gin at our woodland bar? Each Experience Day will be unique and bespoke and you will leave with new skills, amazing memories and maybe a sourdough loaf, side of bacon or a jar of pickled mushrooms that you have just made. They make the perfect gift for anyone who likes to eat, cook and spend time outdoors with like-minded people.

They make fantastic, unique birthday or Christmas presents and if you can help by buying a little piece of future fun, then we would really appreciate it. As soon as our events calendar is published you can book onto the feast or day of your choice.
